Lonnie Lee Harrington, age 46, of Fairfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his home at 8:58 on the morning of Saturday, March 8, 2025.
On June 22, 1978, Lonnie was born as the son of David “Tom” and Constance J. (Hinkle-Montgomery) Harrington in Olney, Illinois. Lonnie was united in marriage to Rachel Donoho on November 11, 2010, in Fairfield, and they shared more than a lifetime of adventures in their 14 years of marriage.
Lonnie started as a member of Union Local 1197 before he began his career with Uniting Piping Inc. He later finished his career as a pipeline inspector with PipeLink Maintenance Inc.
Lonnie was a man of many hobbies, from hunting and fishing with his friends to hiking mountains and exploring beaches with his wife, Rachel. Lonnie was an MMA fighter for many years, raced cars, and participated in many demolition derbies. One can say, he lived his life to the fullest.
Lonnie is survived by his wife: Rachel Harrington of Fairfield; mother: Constance Harrington of Fairfield; children: Dakota King of Fairfield, Laith Harrington of Louisville, Kylee Gregory of Fairfield; father and mother-in-law: Melvin and Robyn Donoho of Fairfield; grandmother-in-law: Eva Lane of Fairfield; siblings: Dawngola (Irena) Harrington of Louisville, Scott (Agustine “Louis” Herdanez) Harringtion of Bluffton, South Carolina; brother and sisters-in-law: Craig Donoho of Fairfield, Aaron (Kinsey Hilliard) Donoho of St. Louis, Missouri, Christopher (Anna) Donoho of Mt. Carmel; several nieces, nephews, lifelong best friend Mark McPeak, along with many other close friends.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents: Floyd Raymond and Lora Alice Harrington.
Memorial services to celebrate Lonnie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 14, 2025, at the McGriff Funeral Home in Louisville with Gene Birch officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward the Family to assist with Lonnie’s Medical Cost.
