An accident occurred in Clay County early Friday afternoon involving a school bus.
According to Sheriff Andy Myers and a Facebook post, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was called to a report of a motor vehicle crash at 12:16 p.m. When deputies arrived, they learned that a Clay City Unit #10 bus, was westbound on U.S. Route 50 near South Main in Clay City, when a vehicle traveling eastbound lost a wheel and tire, which came into the path of the bus. The bus driver attempted to avoid the object, which caused the bus to leave the roadway and strike a ditch.
Several students on the bus were treated for very minor injuries following the accident.
