“BAKING A DIFFERENCE” EVENT FOR JAIMIE FORD TO BE HELD MARCH 20TH

By Mark Wells Mar 17, 2025 | 11:56 AM

The Beta Alpha Lambda chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Frontier Community College is holding a community wide benefit for Jaimie Ford. The benefit will be this Thursday, March 20th, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It will be held at Bob Boyles Hall, next to the highway, on the campus of Frontier. There will be a Bake Sale sign in front of the building.

Jaimie is the owner and operator of Bold Goat Coffee Company in Fairfield, Illinois. Jaimie has been unable to operate her business due to her battle with esophageal cancer since the fall of 2024. All proceeds of the benefit will be used for expenses related to her illness.

Jaimie has been a strong supporter of Frontier’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter for the last few years with their meetings and projects. The members wanted to give back to her, and she was selected as the recipient of the chapter’s spring community service project.

The benefit will include a community bake sale, a raffle for two cakes donated by McKenna Shelby and Amy Hohlbaugh, and three items for silent auction. Auction items include a $100 value basket of cleaning supplies and gift certificates donated by Dana Bare, a $100 gift basket of scratch off lottery tickets donated by IBI Management, and another donated $100 value Bath and Body Works gift basket.

In addition, Fusion Coffee will have a coffee cart available during the morning, with a percentage of their proceeds going to benefit Jaimie. On that day there will also be a donation jar for Jaimie at the uptown location of Fusion Coffee.

All homemade baked items have been donated by members of the Frontier community. Donations include cupcakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, muffins, Turtle candies, biscuits, and more.

Plan to stop by this Thursday. The sale will begin at 8:00 a.m., and both the raffle winners and the silent auction high bidders will be announced at 3:00 p.m. Checks for monetary donations should be made to Phi Theta Kappa, Frontier Community College. Call Linda Monge, 618-204-2399 for pickup of donations or for more information.

Phi Theta Kappa thanks everyone for their generous donations for “Baking a Difference” to help Jaimie Ford.
