2025 ILLINOIS TROUT SEASON BEGINS APRIL 5TH

The 2025 Illinois spring trout fishing season kicks off on Saturday, April 5th, with 58 locations statewide. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources will stock over 80,000 rainbow trout for this season, followed by another 80,000 for the fall season starting in October. In the downstate area, there are eight designated fishing sites. Remember, all anglers need a valid fishing license and an inland trout stamp, unless they are under 16, blind or disabled, or active duty Illinois residents.
