FAIRFIELD, CISNE AND EDWARDS COUNTY FFA CHAPTERS REPRESENTED AT STATE FFA PROFIENCY AWARDS SATURDAY

The State FFA Proficiency Awards Day were held Saturday in Mt. Zion.  The FFA members representing Fairfield High School were Jacob Combs and Ryan Vaughan.  Combs in Wildlife Management and Vaughan in Service Learning.  Both advanced to the state finals by winning Section and District  levels.

 

Cisne FFA members, Macy Tannahill, Ava Lewis, Ava Greifzu, Kadence Smith and Alex Paul also participated in the Awards Day.  Paul was named the State Winner in Environmental Science and Natural Resources Management. Tannahill represented the chapter in Food Service Entrepreneurship.  Lewis interviewed in the Goat Production award area.  Griefzu competed in Vegetable Production.  Smith presented her project in AgriScience Research Plant Systems.  Paul will be recognized on stage at this summer’s Illinois FFA Convention and will complete the application process with hopes of advancing as one of four national finalists

 

Edwards County FFA was represented by JW Simms Reisner and Chase Shelton.  Shelton in Forage Production and Reisner in Sheep Production.

 

Students advanced through section and district proficiency award judging to qualify for state interview competition which is limited to the top five FFA members in Illinois for each of the forty-eight proficiency award areas.
