Nora Joyce Wolf, 88 of Mt. Carmel and formerly of Grayville, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on Thursday, March 4, 1937, in Webster County, MS, a daughter of John Robert and Lucile (Hooper) Avent. She married Leon L. Wolf on April 20, 1966, and together they shared over 28 years of marriage until his passing on October 23, 1994.
Nora was a woman of faith and a member of the Church of God; she was also a member of the Carmi VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Throughout her life Nora’s greatest priority was her family and caring for them.
Survivors include, her daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Gerald Blair; grandchildren, Cynthia (Jason) Oskins, Marcus (Jaclyn) Mosberger, Brenna (Romeo) Ramos, Amy (David) Ross and Chad (Amanda) Compton, great-grandchildren, Madison Marie, Kimber, Korbin, Ann, Troy, Kassie, Zeff, Silas, J.T. and Justice; siblings, Eva Mae, Grace Virginia, June and Joseph and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, John Thomas Roach, a great- grandson Zachary Ryan Spruell and siblings, Elcie Lucille, Ethel Lee, J.G., M.D., Glynn Samuel, Kathryn, Ruby, John Orvin, James Harvey, Jewel and Jimmy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in the Chapel at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service, 221 North First Street, Grayville, IL, with Pastor Kenny Rager officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Roberts and Cook Funeral Service has been entrusted with the arrangements.
