WAYNE COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT NEWS, SEVERAL PLEAD GUILTY

Several guilty pleas were handed down in Wayne County Circuit Court recently.  Fairfield resident, 39-year-old Christopher Hanlon appeared in Wayne County Circuit last Thursday before Judge, Matt Vaughan regarding a traffic case.  During court proceedings, Hanlon became verbally abusive toward Judge Vaughan at which time,  Judge Vaughan immediately charged Hanlon with Contempt of Court where Hanlon was escorted to the Wayne County Jail for a term of ten days or until discharged by due process of law.  Hanlon will be eligible for good time credit on a day for day basis as approved by Sheriff, Chris Otey.

 

21-year-old Jazmyn L. Smith of Chicago pled guilty to DUI.  Smith was sentenced to Probation for a term of one year plus ordered to pay court costs.

 

68-year-old Greg Duckworth of Fairfield pled guilty to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.  Duckworth was sentenced to spend one year in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  Duckworth received 180 days credit for time already served in the Wayne County Jail plus ordered to pay court costs.

 

Jennifer Hanley, 52 of Fairfield pled guilty to Criminal Damage to Property and was placed on Court Supervision for a term of one year plus ordered to pay court costs.

 

Fairfield resident, 51-year-old Terry Richardson pled guilty to Criminal Trespass to a Residence and was sentenced to Conditional Discharge for a term of one year and will pay court costs.

 

Terry Lee II, 54 of Albion pled guilty to  Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and was placed on two years of Probation plus ordered to pay court costs.

 

Mt. Vernon resident, 56-year-old Larry Haygood pled guilty to  Criminal Damage to Property and was sentenced to Conditional Discharge for a term of one year plus court costs.

 

38-year-old Jessica Simpson of Keenes pled guilty to Forgery and was placed on 24 months Probation plus ordered to pay court costs.
