Barbara Ann Dielkes, 85, of Carmi, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025. She was born on September 1, 1939, in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, the daughter of Curtis and Layla (Cross) Harman. Barbara married Kenneth Dielkes on April 4, 1957, and he preceded in death on December 15, 2002. She was a member of Marshall Ferry Baptist Church. Barbara and her husband played in the 1970’s and 1980’s with the gospel group “The Country Gospels”, where she played piano. She loved spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Tom) Horton of Norris City, IL, Sandy (Jeff) Tindall of Rice VA. and Tammy (Greg) Meffert of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Thomas (Tara Ticer) Horton, Tonya (Richard) Cobb, Kristal (Charlie Vance) Porter, Ashlyn Meffert, Amy Meffert, Brienna (Blake) Fogle, Brooke, Stacey, Shane, Justin, Michael, Monica, Jesse, Marie, Ella, Olivia and Nick Tindall; great-grandchildren, Lacey Cobb (Anthony Gomes), Rich Cobb, and Dilin Horton; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Joe Hutchinson. In addition to her husband, Kenneth Dielkes, Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Layla Harman; and a brother, Bill Harman.
Funeral services for Barbara Ann Dielkes will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, with burial at Marshall Ferry Cemetery near Maunie. Family and friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until time of service on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements. Donations may also be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
