Deborah Lucy Rankin, 70, of Grayville Illinois passed away peacefully into the arms of her savior March 31st, 2025, at 2:15 am with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born August 18, 1954, to Ruby Abston and Floyd Abston in Charleston, Illinois.
Debbie loved Jesus, cooking, writing songs, playing guitar and piano, sewing, crocheting, watching and feeding her hummingbirds and Elvis. But most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. She loved deeply and her legacy and love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family.
Debbie, is Survived by her loving husband of 53 years Dennis Rankin of Grayville, daughter Angela (Randy) Bird of Fairfield, Daughter Kelli (Curt) Leavens of Hazleton, Indiana, Son Joshua (Amber) Rankin of Crossville; Grandchildren Alisha Best, Jaida (Ian) Hipsher, Amaya Lashbrook, Kyana Leavens, and Ezra Leavens; Great Grandchildren Selah, Miles, Emmett, Annistyn, Denver, Rubi, and Micah. She is also survived by sister Vickie (Jon) Patrick, her sister Theresa Walker, and brothers-in-law Patrick Rankin, Tim Rankin, and Sister in law Kathleen Rankin and two dogs Tilly, and Indi. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, along with sister, Ruth Benbrook, brother, Dean Brock and her parents’ in law, George & Doris Rankin, Brothers-in-law, Mike Rankin, George (Diane) Rankin III, and Robert Rankin. Graveside Services and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville with Pastor Ron Fellows officiating. Contributions in Debbie’s Memory may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital and will be accepted by Roberts and Cook Funeral Service who has been entrusted with the arrangements.
