Carolyn Sue (Ward) Funkhouser, 80 of Grayville, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, IN. She was born on Saturday, October 28, 1944, in Norris City the daughter, of Herman and Violet (Blue) Ward. She married Jimmy Gale Funkhouser on November 9, 1961, in Grayville and together they shared over 60 years of marriage before his passing on September 2, 2022.
Carolyn was a member of First Baptist Church in Grayville. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include her children, Jimmy (Rosanna) Funkhouser Jr. of Elberfeld, IN, Scott Funkhouser of Cowling and Valorie Lewis of Covington, LA; her brothers, Max Ward, Larry Ward, Gary Ward, Dennis Ward Darrell Ward and Rocky Ward; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the chapel at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service, 101 Edgewood Lane, Carmi, IL, with Pastor David Smith Officiating. Family and friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Roberts and Cook Funeral Service has been entrusted with the arrangements
