VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH FARM IMPLEMENT SENDS LOCAL WOMAN TO FAIRFIELD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

A Fairfield woman was injured when the vehicle she was driving collided with a John Deere chemical sprayer on IL Hwy 15 near County Road 2300E Wednesday morning.  Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Fairfield Rural Fire and Wayne County Ambulance personnel responded to the scene just a little after 9:30 where deputies say a 2022 Cadillac driven by 57-year-old Lee Ann Crane of Fairfield was behind a 2024 John Deere 412R chemical sprayer driven by 32-year-old Tanner White of Iuka.  The sprayer unit was westbound on Il Hwy 15 approaching the intersection with County Road 2300E .  The Crane vehicle was behind the John Deere sprayer a few vehicles back when the John Deere began to make a left turn on County Road 2300E.  Halfway through the turn, the Crane vehicle began to pass in the intersection and struck the rear of the John Deere sprayer.   Crane was transported by Wayne County Ambulance personnel to Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  The driver of the John Deere sprayer, Tanner White was not injured.    Lee Ann Crane was cited by Wayne County Deputies for Driving On The Left Where Prohibited.
