Robert Dee “Bob” Russell, 83, of Norris City

Robert Dee “Bob” Russell, 83, of Norris City, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was born on October 24, 1941, in Eldorado, Illinois, the son of Dee J. and Fern (Deahl) Russell. Bob graduated from Norris City High School in 1959. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. Bob married Diana S. Buttry on August 10, 1964, and they were married for 51 years. He worked as a welder at Texas Eastern and later served as a District Supervisor. Bob enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, sudoku, and listening to audio books. Most of all, he loved being with family and visiting with friends.

Bob is survived by his children, Craig (Irene) Russell of Boston, MA. and Mitchell (Jennifer) Russell of Nicholasville, KY; siblings, Judy (Terry) Daubs of Norris City, IL and Tracy (Jennifer Davis) Russell also of Norris City, IL; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Diana Russell and his parents.

A memorial service will be held for Bob Russell at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City, with a private burial at Herald Cemetery in Norris City. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to Pets at Risk and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Donations may also be mailed to 609 W.
