The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has announced that eastbound I-64 will be shut down for emergency repairs starting at 7pm tonight. The closure is expected to last until 7am on Wednesday.
During this time, eastbound traffic will be diverted to an alternate route at the Centralia exit. Drivers will be directed to take U.S. 51 south to Illinois 15 east, then connect to I-57 to continue their travel.
Motorists are advised to plan for delays and consider alternate routes during this period.
