During the meeting of the Fairfield Grade School Board Monday night, Superintendent Kristina Gardner reported to the school board that the district has received 79% of its revenue and has expended 73% of its budget.
The current food service balance stands at $269,801. A pre-bid meeting was held with two companies in attendance, and bids for food service are due May 23rd.
8th Grade Graduation will be held on Thursday, May 15th at 6:00 PM.
Next year, the math curriculum will be reviewed, along with the potential costs of implementing a new science curriculum.
Summer maintenance requests have been collected. Planned updates include:
Renovation of the North Side hallway.
Installation of new faucets in several Center Street bathrooms.
The district is also awaiting a quote for air conditioning installation in the old gym.
The regular board meeting scheduled for May 12th will now be a special meeting to seat new board members, who will then set the new regular meeting dates.
There remains a vacant two-year term on the board. The district will soon post the application for interested candidates.
Following a closed session, the board took the following personnel actions:
Accepted the resignation of Shelly Borah as Beta Club and Enrichment Sponsor.
Hired Laura Zurliene as 8th Grade Girls’ Basketball Coach.
Accepted the resignation of Heather Waters, paraprofessional, effective at the end of the FY25 school year.
Employed Stacey Blaine, Lauren Eckleberry, Elizabeth Weaver, and Sam Coomer as paraprofessionals for FY26, pending background checks and licensure.
Approved the contract extension of Rhonda Clark through June 30th, 2029.
Approved the contract extension of Kristina Gardner through June 30th, 2028.
Set wages for non-certified staff, including bus drivers, secretaries, nurses, and custodians.
