The Wayne City Village Trustees are set to hold a special meeting Tuesday, April 29th at 6:00 p.m. at the Village Hall, located at 102 S Main Street. The agenda includes a public hearing, action items, discussion on public comments, and a closed executive session.

The meeting will begin with the Pledge of Allegiance and a roll call of trustees. At 6:00 p.m., a public hearing will be conducted regarding an ordinance to vacate an alley, followed by the formal action of adopting Ordinance #624, which pertains to vacating an alley between 305 and 401 E Center Street.

In the new business segment, trustees will swear in the village President, Clerk, and Trustees. They will also review and potentially adopt the ordinance to vacate the alley.

The discussion portion is open to public comments, allowing residents to voice their opinions before the trustees move into executive session. During the closed session, which follows, the board will discuss personnel matters related to specific employees or legal counsel, as authorized under Illinois law (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)).

After the executive session, the trustees will reconvene in open session to discuss the appointment of Chief of Police, Hedden, and determine any necessary actions resulting from the closed session discussions.

Residents and interested parties are encouraged to attend.
