Wayne County is set to host its annual Kids in Motion Summer Day Camp, a non-profit, faith-based program serving all of Wayne County and designed to keep children engaged and active during the summer months. Organized by local volunteers, the camp provides a variety of fun and educational activities for kids in kindergarten through 8th grade and will be held beginning its 4th year at New Beginnings Church east of Fairfield.

The program runs from June 2nd to August 1st with hours of operation being Monday thru Friday 6:30am to 5pm, closed July 4th. The camp is intended to promote physical activity, learning, and social interaction among young children.

Nutritious meals will be available including breakfast, lunch and snacks provided by KIM daily and are prepared by experienced and certified staff. KIM participates in the Summer Food Service Program through the State of Illinois. Participants will enjoy activities such as swimming, skating, arts and crafts, reading, fun games, speakers and field trips and more. The program aims to foster core values like safety, kindness, and teamwork, making it a well-rounded experience for local kids.

There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee at the time of registration and $15 for each additional sibling. Open enrollment will continue all summer long with drop-in rates available. The camp is made possible through the support of Wayne County volunteers, who dedicate their time to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.
