Lois M. Cherry, 91, of Fairfield, died at 7:40pm on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Wabash Senior Living in Carmi, IL.
Lois was born on May 16, 1933, in Barnhill, IL, to Otto and Margaret (Atteberry) Meeks.
Lois was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Life Fellowship Church of God in Fairfield and was very faithful to prayer and reading her Bible. She loved God, family, and her church very much. Lois also had a flair for art, color, and painting.
Survivors include her four children Mark (Debbie) Cherry, Sr. of St. Jacobs, IL, Brenda Lefever and Monica Tomlinson both of Fairfield, and Brian (Sherri) Cherry of Marquette, MI, seven grandchildren Stacy Duvall, Mark Cherry, Jr., Nathan Cherry, Jason Cherry, Jessica Riley, Aaron Cherry, Alyssa Genschaw, Chelsea Cherry and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, her sister Millie Finn of Louisville, KY, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, four sisters, and two grandsons.
Funeral services for Lois Cherry will be at 12pm on Monday, June 10th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in the Barnhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Life Fellowship Church of God and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
