Ivan E. Holler, 93, of Fairfield

Ivan E. Holler, 93, of Fairfield, passed away at 9:12pm on Monday, June 24, 2024, at his home.

Ivan was born on October 10, 1930, near Orchardville, IL, to Earl and Iva (Bright) Holler. On October 22, 1949, he married the love of his life, Bonnie (Lathrop) Holler, who preceded him in death in 2020.

Ivan was an electrical engineer and in his earlier years, he worked for Wayne-White Electric Coop in Fairfield. For the 10 years leading up to his retirement, he worked for the National Rural Electric Coop Association (NRECA). He and his team worked to install electrical service across the country of Bangladesh. Ivan was a long-time member of the Community of Christ Church in Fairfield, serving as an elder, as well as the pastor for several years. He was a past president of the Rotary Club and also served on the Brush Creek Campground board. Ivan was a past president of the FCHS school board and was honored to be able to hand his son, Mark, his high school diploma.

Survivors include his sons Dennis (Judy Sabbert) Holler of Overland Park, KS, and Mark (Susan) Holler of Orange Park, FL, a daughter Jackie (Phil) Hogue of Troy, IL, five grandchildren Rachael Guttmann, Jennifer Hogue, Ryan Holler, Adam Holler, and Brandon Holler, five great grandchildren Connor and Aden Guttmann, Nora and Garrett Holler, and Danai Tewolde-Holler, a brother Bernard (Marge) Holler of Eau Claire, WI, a brother-in-law Dale Warren of Fairfield, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bonnie, and his sister Erma Lou Warren.

Funeral services for Ivan Holler will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 29th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial to follow in Brush Creek Cemetery in Xenia. Visitation will be at 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Brush Creek Campground and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
