FLORA MAN TO SPEND TIME IN ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT

26-year-old Braxton D. Allen from Flora, has been sentenced to 17 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after being convicted on two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, both classified as Class-X felonies. The sentences will run concurrently.

 

According to Clay County State’s Attorney Phillip M. Givens, the charges relate to incidents that occurred between May 1st and May 31st, 2021. In addition to his prison sentence, Allen will be required to serve three years to life on parole following his release and will have to register as a sex offender for life.

 

Judge Kevin Parker also ordered Allen to pay a total of $5,854 in fines, fees, and court costs. He received credit for 141 days spent in county jail while awaiting the outcome of his case.
