Two women from McLeansboro are facing drug charges following a traffic stop in the Verizon parking lot in Carmi on Sunday.
Misty M. Wells, 42, was arrested for possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle. She was booked and later released from the White County Jail with a notice to appear. According to online court records, Wells is scheduled for her first appearance in White County Court on Tuesday, November 26, at 9 a.m.
Penney A. Sullivan, 58, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and is currently being held in the White County Jail. A preliminary hearing for Sullivan is set for Monday, November 18, at 10 a.m. in White County Court.
The police initiated the stop around 4:40 p.m. and noticed a marijuana pipe on the driver’s side floorboard. A probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered multiple marijuana pipes, marijuana in a non-child-resistant container, methamphetamine, and a used methamphetamine pipe.
