WAYNE COUNTY BOARD MEETING RECAP FROM LAST THURSDAY

By Mark Wells Oct 15, 2024 | 11:57 AM

The Wayne County Board met last Thursday, tackling a light agenda.

County Road Commissioner Dennis Seidel put forth a proposal for county aid regarding the Leech Township Bridge project. Due to its designation as Illinois wetlands, the project now faces additional regulatory oversight from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, but the board approved the requested aid.

In other news, board member Bill Bruce accepted a position on the Wayne County Health Department.

During public comments, resident Vicki Chambliss commended the board and county offices for their hard work this year.

The board then moved into an executive session and adjourned without taking any actions. Looking ahead, the November meeting will kick off discussions on county and office budgets.
