FAIRFIELD COIN CLUB SHOW AND AUCTION HIGHLIGHTS FROM SUNDAY

The Fairfield Coin Club held its 54th Annual Coin Show and Auction this past Sunday at the North Side Grade School.  Winning door prizes of a 2025 Red Book was Gene Allen, Dwain Thomason, Curtis Cisco, Billy Robertson, Alex Marshel, and Dennis Marshel.

 

This year,  the Annual Show book was dedicated to  Robert Fulk and Bryan Morgan.  The Fairfield Coin Club wishes to dedicate this year’s show book to these 2 dealers and Directors who bring a wealth of knowledge to the Coin Club meetings.

 

Every year the Fairfield Coin Club awards two $500 scholarships to Frontier Community College students.  This year’s recipients are Reily Titzer, Rebecca Ann Young and the Larry Kauble Memorial Scholarship goes to Abra  Slover.

 

This year’s raffle prize winners are:

 

1st Prize –  2016 100th Anniversary ¼ th ounce Gold won by Danny Stallings

2nd Prize – 2008 W Bald Eagle  $5.00 gold (1/4 th ounce Gold ) won by Bill Frilier

 

3rd Prize –  1884 O Morgan Dollar won by Melvin Clark

4th Prizes – 2024 Silver Eagles (5 Drawings) Roberta Matthews, Dana Sutton, Julie Wilson, David Harris and Carl Vaughn

5th Prizes  -2024 Silver Eagles (5 Drawings) Danny Stallings, Larry Easley, Ronnie Tibbs,Gary Easley and Danny Stallings.

 

The 50/50 winner was Harold Rush winning $174.00.  There was a money jar and everyone was allowed to guess how much money they thought was in the jar. The person guessing the closest was Justin Curry. His guess was $53.80 and the actual amount was $53.67 with a 13 cent difference.

 

The penny stacking contest was for kids 14 and under.  All kids were given 100 pennies and had 10 minutes to stack the tallest height and the winner received a 2024 Silver Eagle the winner was Jonah Tun stacking 4 ¼ inches high.  The tallest stack of pennies at this time is 6 ½ feet according to the Guiness Book of World Records. The kids were also given $60.00 in play money to bid in the special junior auction and are allowed to take what they buy home with them.
