Thomas E. Vaughan, 77, of Fairfield passed away at 5:30AM on Thursday November 14, 2024, at Fairfield Senior Living and Rehab. He was born in Fairfield on May 21, 1947, to Pleasant and Geneva (Gibbs) Vaughan. Tom worked as a serviceman/propane delivery driver for many years in Fairfield. He loved Jesus, his family, playing guitar, fishing, woodworking, and gardening. Tom was a truly kind and generous person and was always willing to help those in need. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Tom is survived by his wife- Dorothy Vaughan of Fairfield; daughters- Michelle Asher of Fairfield, Dana (Scott) Holleman of East Alton IL, and Melissa (Brian) Gill of Bethany IL; step sons- Monty (Doris) Ewing of Champagne, and Buddy Ewing of Fairfield; grandchildren- DG (Amber Schweska) Toombs of Canton IL, Christopher (Katie) Gill of Bethany IL, Holly (Austin) Weaver of Sullivan IL, Ryan (Danielle) Asher of Mill Shoals, Krista (Lucas) Carey of Grayville, and David Asher of Fairfield; great grandchildren- Kayleigh and Jackson Toombs, Matthew Busch, Emma Asher, Mary and Klara Simpson, Lane Bailey, Siddie Carey, Kamryn Gill, Case and Kainan Weaver; seven step grandchildren; 23 step great grandchildren; brothers- Donnie (Jean) Vaughan of Carmi, and Joe Vaughan of Manhattan IL; sister- Geneva Klaffer of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, first wife- Patsy (Middleton) Vaughan, son- William Thomas Vaughan, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services for Tom Vaughan will be held at 1PM on Monday November 18, 2024, at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11AM until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
