Mt. Carmel police report the arrest of two Mt. Carmel residents Christmas Day after a traffic stop.
Reports say 56 year old Phillip W. Farrar was arrested on a Wabash County Warrant for Failure to Appear on outstanding charges for Methamphetamine Delivery, Felonty Domestic Battery, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. He also faces additional charges of Obstructing Justice, Aggravated Intimidation and Possession of Drug Parphernalia. 48 year old Frank E. Shoultz was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Concealing or Aiding a Fugitive, Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer, Obstructing Justice and Aggravated Intimidation. The arrests came after a traffic stop in Mt. Carmel in which Farrar and Shoultz were passengers in the vehicle.
Both were taken to the Wabash County Jail. The report said police later learned that Shoultz was on Mandatory Supervised Release form the Illinois Department of Corrections, resulting in the issuance of an IDOC warrant. Both men were being held without bond as of Friday.
