The Championship Game of the Sesser-Valier Tournament Saturday between Waltonville and Goreville was suspended indefinitely with 7:20 left in the 3rd quarter. Goreville player, Cole Tripp suffered a serious injury on a routine basketball play. He was taken out of the gym by an ambulance. According to Goreville Superintendent Steve Webb, Cole is doing well. He is now alert and remembers everything. He was first taken to Franklin Hospital in Benton then transferred to Children’s Hospital in St Louis for additional testing. The initial CT scan is good.
The Championship Game at Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament will resume tonight (Monday) at 7:00pm. Free Admission. Doors open at 6:00pm.
