FAIRFIELD POLICE MAKE TWO ARRESTS ON NEW YEAR’S DAY

Two Fairfield residents were arrested by Fairfield Police on two separate incidents on New Year’s Day. At approximately 3:36 AM, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of W Main Street to investigate the report of 3, 911 hang up telephone calls. An officer was able to hear yelling from an apartment and made contact with the occupants. Upon investigation, officers arrested Jamall R. Washington, 42 of Fairfield. Washington is accused of domestic battery and interfering with reporting of domestic violence. Washington was transported to the Wayne County Jail, with the female victim seeking treatment for reported injuries.

 

At approximately 6:15 PM, an officer on patrol observed David E. Lewis, 72 of Fairfield in the 400 block of E. King Street. Lewis was wanted in a Wayne County Failure to Appear Warrant for driving while license suspended. Lewis was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Jail.
