Wayne County Sheriff’s Department was busy Friday handling weather related accidents.  Just before 12 noon, a 2020 Dodge Ram truck driven by 28-year-old Torry Allen of Rockford, IL was westbound on I-64 near milepost 116 when the truck left the road for unknown reasons.  The truck rolled onto the driver’s side. Allen refused treatment and the truck remained at the scene until a tow could arrive.

Also Friday just before 12 noon, a 2017 Ford Fusion driven by Grandview, MO resident, 38-year-old Andrew Gusler  was traveling westbound on I-64 near milepost 110 as Gusler  was approaching a 2022 Freightliner Semi-trailer combination parked on the shoulder occupied by 50-year-old Ero Noor of Mississauga, Ontario.  The Gusler vehicle attempted to change lanes when the driver lost control on the ice covered roadway, traveling onto the shoulder and striking the trailer and coming to a stop.  Gusler was transported from the scene by Wayne County Ambulance personnel to Fairfield Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a jack-knifed semi Friday afternoon just after 1 O’clock of US HWY 45 South of Fairfield near the New Hope curve.  Deputies say a 2022 Freightliner driven by 29-year-old Ajaypal Decl of Sacramento, CA was driving north of US 45 when he lost control of the semi, left the roadway before overcorrecting and then jack-knifing in the roadway blocking traffic. No injuries were reported.
