Erik Damion Griffith, 46, of Eldorado

 Erik Damion Griffith, 46, of Eldorado, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. He was born on December 31, 1978, in Marion, Illinois, the son of Dennis and Amber (Smith) Griffith. Erik graduated from Herrin High School in 1997. He played football and basketball during his time in school. He was a member of the Hurricane Memorial Baptist Church in Herrin, Illinois. Erik was an avid sports fan and loved playing video games and watching historical documentaries.

    Erik is survived by his parents, Dennis and Amber Griffith of Eldorado, IL; His grandmother, Shirley Smith of Fudgetown, IL; a sister, Angela (William) Holderfield of Granite City, IL; an uncle, Joseph (Cheryl) Griffith of Herrin, IL; two aunts, Brenda Griffith of Herrin, IL. and her daughter Melissa; Jan Griffith of Carterville, IL. and her children Dax and Dara; and numerous other cousins. He is preceded in death by a half brother, Jeremy Smith; grandparents, Rev. Joseph Franklin Griffith, Sr, Gladys Griffith and Paul Smith; and uncles, James Griffith, Richard Griffith and Gerald Griffith.

Funeral services for Erik Griffith will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City, with burial at I.O.O.F. cemetery in Norris City. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pets At Risk or to a local food pantry, and will be accepted at Campbell funeral Home in Norris City. Donations may also be mailed to 609 W.
