PRETRIAL HEARING DELAYED IN MEGAN VALENTINE MURDER CASE

A pretrial hearing in the first-degree murder case against Megan Valentine has been postponed. Judge William Thurston issued a docket entry on Wednesday, rescheduling the hearing from Thursday to Wednesday, February 26th. Judge Thurston also noted that discovery is ongoing, with the prosecution and defense continuing to exchange information as ordered.

 

44-year-old Megan Valentine is charged with the November  5th, 2024, shooting death of her husband, Edwards County Resident Judge Michael Valentine. She is accused of shooting him in the back at their home north of Albion. Currently, she is being held in the White County jail at Carmi for Edwards County authorities, with pretrial release denied. A trial date has yet to be established.
