Donald “Donnie” Ray Deen, age 80 a resident of Broughton, IL. passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Donnie was born in Walpole, IL. on November 10, 1944, a son of John Kent Deen and Ruth Grace (Williams) Deen.
Donnie was a member of the 1st. Presbyterian Church in McLeansboro, IL. He enjoyed watching old westerns, shooting baskets, raising chickens and watching the Cardinals. Most of all he enjoyed watching his grand and great grandchildren play sports. Donnie was a member of the McLeansboro Masonic Lodge, Polk #137 AF&AM.
Survivors include his daughters Denise Deen-Armstrong and husband Brandon, Dardenne Prairie, MO. and Deborah Vaughan and husband Bret, McLeansboro, IL. His son Daron Deen and wife Jen, Imperial, Mo. Also surviving are gran children Austyn Kloth, Afton Downen and husband Jeremy, Rhet Vaughan and wife Christy, Grace Deen and Sam Deen. Great grandchildren, Kennedy Maham, J.J. Maham, Daisy Downen, Brinley Downen, Rhema Vaughan and Sagan Vaughan. His sisters Mary Tice, Mt. Vernon, IL. and Beverly York, Fairfield, IL.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jim and Frank Deen.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro with the funeral service at 12:00 Noon. Pastor Randall Ragan will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hebron Cemetery, Broughton, IL.
Memorials may be given to the Hebron Cemetery Fund.
