Legislation awaiting Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s signature requires health insurers in the state to cover hearing aids. Published reports said currently. insurance companies only have to cover hearing aids for patients under the age of 18. The bill expands the coverage to include adults. Those against the measure had argued the move would cost insurers too much.
About 20 other states have similar laws.
