Wayne Allen Hopper, age 50, a resident of McLeansboro, IL. passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital, McLeansboro, IL.
Wayne was born August 18, 1974 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a son of John and Eileen Hopper. Wayne was a machine operator for Continental Tire and a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. Wayne loved to hunt, fish, do woodworking and spend time with his brother Chris at Fishing Boat Expos and he served as a volunteer fireman at McLeansboro Fire Department. Wayne spent a lot of time reading his Bible.
Survivors include his son Trenton Hopper and fiancé Chloe Burzinski, McLeansboro, mother Eileen Hopper, McLeansboro, IL., brothers Gary Hopper, McLeansboro, IL and Chris Follmer and wife Janese, McLeansboro, IL. sisters Sandra Gholson and husband Samuel Brent, Blue Springs, Missouri, Christina Follmer, Farmington, Missouri, Jacquie Griffith and husband Bill, Eldorado, IL. and Leann Miller and husband Ron, Springerton, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Norm Lorenz officiating. Burial will be at Ten Mile Cemetery, McLeansboro, IL.
Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
