EDWARDS CO. COURTHOUSE IMPROVEMENTS NEAR COMPLETION

By Mark Wells Mar 14, 2025 | 11:55 AM

Work on the Edwards County courthouse in downtown Albion is nearing completion, with tuckpointing expected to finish later this month. This effort is part of a more extensive improvement project that began in June 2023.

The tuckpointing is being carried out by Mason’s Masonry Restoration, a firm based in Brownstown, Illinois. They previously handled restoration projects at both Colyer’s Coffee House and State Farm Insurance in Albion.

Following the completion of the tuckpointing, a new front door made from red mahogany will be installed. A company from Vincennes, Indiana, is custom crafting the door, which officials anticipate will be ready later this month. Notably, the courthouse entrance has remained closed to the public for several years.
