PRELIMINARY HEARINGS SCHEDULED FOR THREE ACCUSED IN MT. VERNON MAN’S MURDER

On Wednesday, Jefferson County Court scheduled preliminary hearings for three individuals charged with the murder of 57-year-old Patrick Williamson from Mt. Vernon, who was found dead early Monday morning.  Williamson was a Sales Consultant at Monken Toyota in Mt. Vernon.

According to court records, 60-year-old Laura Lee Beneway from Bonnie and 67-year-old Eddie G. Bennett from Mt. Vernon are scheduled for their motion and preliminary hearings on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Both have been denied pre-trial release. Additionally, there is a scheduled arraignment for Beneway on Tuesday for a petition to revoke her probation in an unrelated matter.

66-year-old Peter M. Harris from Mt. Vernon will have his preliminary hearing on Thursday, April 3 at 9 a.m. He too has been denied pre-trial release.

All three individuals are facing multiple counts of First-degree Murder linked to a robbery.

Police discovered Williamson’s body shortly after 5 a.m. on Monday in the 600 block of South 15th Street.

Two of the suspects were apprehended on Monday, while the third was arrested later that night by a High-Risk Team.

The Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s Office filed the charges following their investigation.
