Lenora Hope Bunting, 94, of Albion, Illinois, passed away on April 14, 2025, at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
Lenora was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, on December 12, 1930, to Ralph and Edna (Wright) Waggoner. She married Robert Dale Bunting on February 20, 1949, in Browns, Illinois. They shared thirty-three anniversaries together before his death on November 30, 1982.
Lenora was a homemaker and was an excellent cook. She was very proud of her beloved family. Lenora enjoyed gathering with friends for the weekly card game at the Senior Citizens Center. She attended the First Christian Church and the First Presbyterian Church both in Albion.
Lenora is survived by her four sons; Robert (Jackie O’Daniel) Bunting, Doug (Dixie) Bunting, Stanley (Sherry) Bunting, Richard Bunting, and two daughters; Kelly (Robert) Wheat and Mary Gigi (Mike) Naney. She also leaves behind grandchildren; Jamie (Brian) Mewes, Jeffery (Valerie) Bunting, Drew (Taryn) Bunting, Jordyn (Ryan) Greifzu, Amie (Christian) Neeley, Logan (Amy) Wheat, Morgan (John) Wheat, Angela (Matt) Thompson, and Savannah (Charlie) Baxter. Fourteen great-grandchildren; Kyle Mewes, Blake Mewes, Sarah (Bryce) Mitchell, Cali Bunting, Cate Bunting, Mason Bunting, Josie Greifzu, Walker Neeley, Jaxson Vaughan, Harper Wheat, Leighton Wheat, Carly Baxter, Carson Baxter, Carolina Baxter; and one great-great-grandson, Dawson Mitchell, also survive.
Lenora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; five siblings Ken, Phil, Mildred, Mary, and Barbara; and two grandchildren Nathan & Rebekah.
Graveside services for Lenora H. Bunting will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Graceland Cemetery in Albion, Illinois. Nale’s Funeral Home of Albion is in charge of the service. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Edwards County Senior Citizens Center and will be accepted at the graveside or at the funeral home.
