By Mark Wells Apr 21, 2025 | 11:54 AM

Clay County Hospital will serve as the drop-off location for the Clay County Prescription Drug Take-Back program on Saturday, April 26th, from 10 AM to 1 PM.

This event is part of the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, which aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of prescription drugs. It also educates the public about the potential for medication abuse.

Unused medications contribute significantly to drug abuse in many homes. Additionally, 80% of US waterways contain traces of common medications, and 56% of teens believe prescription drugs are easier to obtain than illegal drugs.

This initiative offers a secure and reliable method for disposing of these medications.

The event is sponsored by the Coalition Against Drug Abuse of Clay County, in partnership with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Flora Police Department, Clay County Hospital, Clay County Solid Waste Committee, Clay County Health Department, and Clay County Probation.
