WAYNE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT ARREST FOUR OVER THE WEEKEND

Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies arrest four area individuals over the weekend.  Early Friday, just after midnight, deputies responded to a call about a suspected domestic battery in Cisne. After interviewing the victim, who was receiving treatment at Clay County Hospital, deputies obtained enough information to make an arrest. They located and detained 22-year-old Mason R. Thomas of Cisne on charges of Aggravated Domestic Battery. Thomas was transported to the Wayne County Jail and will appear at a detention hearing soon.

 

Friday night around 10 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Charles E. Murphy, 61, of Mill Shoals. During the stop, deputies searched the vehicle and recovered approximately 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine along with $367 in cash. Murphy was taken into custody and is currently awaiting a detention hearing on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine.

 

Early Saturday morning, around 3 a.m., deputies investigated a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway in the rural Wayne City area. They found Emily A. Coombs, 32, of Fairfield, and believed she was under the influence of alcohol. Coombs was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and released later with a Notice to Appear.

 

Tyler R. Willis, 20 of Albion was arrested Saturday on a Wayne County warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm without a valid FOID card.  Willis was booked into the Wayne County Jail pending a court appearance.
