Clay County Fair Activities

The annual Clay County Fair is set to get into full swing this week.  Some activities began this past Friday, including a Bulls Rodeo, along with bull riding and barrel racing.  Several 4-H activities were held Saturday.

Registration for the kids pedal tractor pull is set to begin at 1 p.m. today with the kids pull at 2 p.m., hosted by the Clay County Farm Bureau Young Leaders.  The 4-H Open Sheep Show will be at 5:30 this evening, and the ministerial alliance will present the Ministers of Comedy on the main stage at 6 p.m.  At 7 p.m. a greased pig contest will be held, sponsored by UPI of Fairfield, with the talent show on the main stage.

Several 4-H activities will be held throughout the week beginning on Monday.  The Little Miss Pageant will start at 7 p.m. Monday, with 20 girls vying for the title.  On Tuesday the Junior Miss Clay County Fair Pageant and pie auction will take place on the stage at 7:30 p.m.  Wednesday will feature a Tractor Driving Contest at 1 p.m. and the Livestock Auction at 6:30 p.m.  Thursday night the Andy King Band will be on stage from 7 to 9:30 p.m..

The fair will culminate with the Clay County Fair Queen and Future Miss Pageant Friday night at 7.  Those competing for the Miss Clay County Fair title include Alyssa Griffy, Elaina Kessler, Emma Griffith, Landree Erwin and Madison Gerard.
