Parental Leave Expanded for Secretary of State Employees

Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias [[ ah-LEX-ee jih-NEW-lee-us ]] is expanding parental leave for employees in his office. Giannoulias signed an Executive Order to expand the office’s parental leave policy from four weeks to twelve weeks. Under the new policy, all of the 41-hundred Secretary of State employees will receive up to twelve weeks of paid parental leave regardless of whether they are the birthing or non-birthing parent.
