Wayne County VFW Announces Patriot’s Pen Winners

Wayne County VFW Auxiliary Post 4535 of Fairfield has announced this year’s Patriot’s Pen winners. This year’s theme was ” How are you inspired by America” and was open to 6^th 7^th and 8^th grade students in Wayne County. Essays were judged on originality and content. 1^st Place winner receiving $250 is Lillian McCarthy of Cisne Middle School. Lillian is a 7th grade student. Lillian’s essay will now advance to district completion. Other students receiving $50 scholarships for outstanding essays are Hannah Moore a 7^th grade student from Geff Grade School and Paisley Barbre an 8^th grade student from Jasper Grade School.
