The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, just before midnight received a 911 call reporting a two vehicle head on crash near the intersection of E Dubois Rd and N Pulsar Ln located in Scheller, Illinois.
Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Waltonville Fire Protection District, Woodlawn Fire Protection District, Jefferson Fire Protection District, Litton’s Ambulance Service and the Illinois State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene.
Preliminary reports suggest that a 2017 Buick, crossed the centerline striking a 2023 Chevrolet head on. The driver of the Buick, a 20 year old male from Scheller and the passenger, a 20 year old male from Herrin, became trapped in the vehicle and were pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 37 year old male from Collinsville, was also pronounced deceased on scene. The passenger of the Chevrolet, a 23 year old male from Crystal Lake, was transported to St Louis in an unknown condition.
The identities of the drivers and occupants are being withheld pending notification of family members. The investigation into the accident continues.
