Crews from Wayne White Counties Electric Cooperative were busy over the noon hour Friday, after they were called to a reported power outage in the vicinity of NW 4th and West Main Street in Fairfield shortly before noon.
According to reports from the scene and information from the Wayne White Counties Electric Cooperative Facebook page, nearly 400 meters were out of power in the surrounding area. The Fairfield Police and Fairfield Fire Department also responded to the scene to assist, with police blocking the street to traffic while Wayne-White crews worked on the affected power poles in the area. There were no reports of any fire in the area. At least two Fairfield Fire Department trucks were in the area.
Power was eventually restored and the area cleared for traffic around 12:30 Friday afternoon.
