Glenda Fern (Hutchcraft) Goforth, 82, of Decatur, IL and formerly of McLeansboro, IL left this Earth to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Imboden Creek Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center in Decatur.

She was born November 18, 1941 in Carmi, IL to Albert “Glen” & Wilma Hutchcraft.  She married Alfred “Leroy” Goforth, who preceded her in death.

Glenda enjoyed traveling all over the United States with Leroy, who served in the United States Navy. She was excellent at making floral arrangements, knitting, and any craft items she could get her hands on.  Glenda was an outstanding homemaker, who would occasionally work part-time at various jobs throughout her life.

Glenda was faithful with her religion, so she knew in her heart she would meet her Lord and Savior one day.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.  She would do anything her family asked of her.  Her family and God were the most important things in her life.

She is survived by her sister: Brenda (Robert) Lyons of Decatur; two grandchildren: Ashley Goforth and Aaron (Kailey) Goforth; two great-grandchildren: Karley Goforth and Conner Kirk; and three nephews: Steven Lyons, David Lyons, and Derek Wheeler.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert “Glen” and Wilma Hutchcraft; her husband: Alfred Leroy Goforth; son: Darion Lee Goforth; two brothers: Albert Lee Hutchcraft and Kenneth Gene Wheeler; and her step-father: Eugene Wheeler.

A Graveside Memorial Service for Glenda Goforth will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at White County Memorial Garden near Carmi, IL with Pastor Jacob Gray officiating.  Burial of ashes will take place at the cemetery.  Those attending are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.  Gholson Funeral Home of McLeansboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
