ALBION CITY COUNCIL MEETS IN SPECIAL SESSION MONDAY NIGHT

The Albion City Council met in special session last (Monday) night to discuss the closing of a bridge that is in need of repair just west of Albion off of the Red Hill Blacktop. There seems to be some confusion as to who actually owns the bridge, whether it be the state or the city. In the early 70s, Rt. 15 west was rebuilt and then at some point the City of Albion annexed in a portion of the area to allow the Wanboro Subdivision to be placed in the city limits however, the bridge in question seemed to be forgotten as far as ownership.

The current road district has maintained the bridge however, it might not be owned by the road district or the city but owned instead by the state. County Engineer, Dustin Bunting is requesting a meeting with the state and other agencies including the city. In the meantime, the bridge remains closed to the public.
