MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL:
The St. Louis Cardinals aim to avoid a fifth loss in a row when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers from Busch Stadium tonight. The Cardinals were swept by the Reds earlier this week. St. Louis is four games out of the final NL Wild Card spot at 60-and-61. Miles Mikolas starts for the Cardinals tonight. First pitch is at 7:15PM.

The Chicago Cubs aim to avoid their fourth loss in a row when they host the Toronto Blues Jays at Wrigley Field today. The Cubs were swept by the Cleveland Guardians earlier this week. Chicago is five-and-a-half games out of the final NL Wild Card spot at 59-and-63. Kyle Hendricks takes the mound for the Northsiders today. First pitch is at 1:20PM.

The Chicago White Sox trudge along in their nightmarish 2024 season with a game against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park tonight. The White Sox lost a series to the New York Yankees earlier this week and are currently in last place in the AL Central at 29-and-93. The Southsiders are on pace to have the worst record in the Modern Era of the MLB. Garrett Crochet starts for Chicago tonight. First pitch is at 7:10PM.

Bears Play Bengals In Preseason:

The Chicago Bears continue preseason play with a game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Soldier Field tomorrow. The Bears are 2-and-0 this preseason after beating the Buffalo Bills 33-6 last weekend. Chicago is expected to play most of its starters in the contest. Tomorrow’s game kicks off at noon.

NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Push Stops In Michigan Sunday:

The NASCAR Cup Series regular season is winding down. The drivers square off at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday in the FireKeepers Casino 400 for the third-to-last race of the season. Austin Dillon earned a victory in last weekend’s Cook Out 400, but NASCAR rescinded the automatic race-win playoff qualification after officials determined Dillon crashed several other drivers on the final lap. Kyle Larson, Tyler Reddick, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin and Ryan Blaney make up the top-five in the standings.
