The City of Fairfield Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is seeking applicants to establish an eligibility list from which Police Officer vacancies for the Fairfield Police Department will be filled. Applications may be picked up between 7am and 4pm Monday through Friday beginning Monday (August 26th) at Fairfield City Hall. Applications will not be mailed but can be electronically sent upon request by calling 618-842-2294. The Police application is also available to download on www.cityoffairfieldillinois.com. Completed applications may be returned electronically to hrm@fairfieldilcitygov.us or dropped off at City Hall and must be returned by 4pm on October 4th.
Applicants who meet the basic qualifications must attend a MANDATORY Orientation meeting at 4:15pm Friday, October 18th at Fairfield City Hall. Written testing will immediately follow. Qualified applicants having passed the written exam will then be required to pass the physical testing to be held at Fairfield High School on October 19th at 8am. Applicants who pass the written and physical agility may be required to provide further information and documentation to continue the testing process.
