Anna Louise Lane, 81, of Enfield

Anna Louise Lane, 81, of Enfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, Illinois. She was born on January 13, 1943, in Eldorado, Illinois, the daughter of Robert C and Marjorie Lou (Pyle) Barlow. Anna married James Allen Lane on June 29, 1962, and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2024. Ann had many jobs throughout her life. She was a beautician and owned Ann’s Beauty Shop for a time. Ann was an EMT, decorated cakes for weddings and birthdays at home as well as for Big John Bakery. She was a cook at New Harmony Healthcare, and drove a suburban for NCOE School District. Ann was a member of the Enfield General Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family.

Anna is survived by her children, Cindy (Max) Lowery of Norris City, IL, Kendall (Melody) Lane of Walsh, IL. and Lisa (Carl) South of Enfield, IL; grandchildren, Amy (Leroy) Goldsberry of Henderson, KY, Ashley (Chris) Garlick of Norris City, IL, Daniel (Brenda) Unthank of Harrisburg, IL, Tommy (Megan) Swearenger of Steeleville, IL, Samantha (PJ Siegler) Swearenger of Eldorado, IL, Scott (Naomi) South of Wisconsin, Daniel (Jessica) South of Enfield, IL, and Cody South of Enfield, IL; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Carroll Robert (Margaret) Barlow of New Athens, IL; two sisters-in-law, Marsha (Clyde) Rush of Springerton, IL. and Sharon (Ronnie) Barger of Enfield, IL; a brother-in-law, Robert Barger of Enfield, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, James Allen Lane, Anna is preceded in death by her parents; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Judy Barger.

Funeral services for Anna Lane will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Enfield General Baptist Church, with burial at Little Zion Cemetery in Enfield, Illinois. Family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on August 31, 2024, at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Anna’s memory to Enfield General Baptist Church and will be accepted at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield or may be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
