The Artimus Pyle Band was scheduled to perform at the Ridgway Popcorn Days celebration this Saturday, but the show was canceled after it was revealed that Artimus Pyle, the former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer, is a registered sex offender. Organizers discovered that he had not disclosed this information in the contract. In light of the cancellation, the organizers booked a new act, the Arena Rock Symphony, based in Nashville. Pyle was a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1974 to 1977 and again from 1987 to 1991, and he participated in the band’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
