The Varsity Football game that was suspended on Friday night between Hamilton County and Edwards County was finished Monday night with Foxes defeating the Lions 27-0. The game had been suspended with the score at 19-0.
Hamilton County improves to 2-2 overall, while Edwards County falls to 0-4.

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL:
The St. Louis Cardinals begin their final week of the season with a game against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field tonight. The Cardinals are coming off a series win over the Guardians over the weekend, but the team has already been eliminated from postseason contention. The 79-and-77 Cards send Michael McGreevy to the mound tonight. First pitch is at 7:40PM.

The Chicago Cubs opened up their series against the Philadelphia Phillies with a 6-2 loss at Citizens Bank Park yesterday. The Cubs gave up the first six runs of the game and didn’t get on the board until a two-run seventh inning. Mike Tauchman and Nico Hoerner both drove in a run during the losing effort, while Caleb Kilian was charged with his first loss in relief after surrendering five earned runs and one unearned run on eight hits in five-and-two-thirds innings. The Cubs remain in second place in the NL Central at 80-and-77. The Northsiders send Justin Steele to the mound against the Phillies tonight.

The Chicago White Sox aim to avoid setting a record in futility when they host the Los Angeles Angels at Guaranteed Rate Field. The 36-and-120 Southsiders are a loss away from setting a new record for most losses in a modern MLB season. Jonathan Cannon takes the mound for the Sox tonight. First pitch is at 6:40PM.
