Wayne County Sheriff, Chris Otey says the Wayne County Jail was recognized during the 2024 Illinois Sheriff’s Conference. The Illinois Department of Corrections recognized the jail for outstanding performance. Sheriff Otey stated he would like to thank his jail administration, Sgt. Mike Miller and Cpl. Dylan Toombs along with the outstanding correctional officers who day in and day out serve in this vital role. Sheriff Otey also announced that Wayne County Jail just received its yearly inspection and passed with 100 percent compliance.
